Below the most recent entry are links to view past blog entries in the archive. 2008/2009 Middle School Nordic Ski Team  02/24/2009 Year Overview The 2008/2009 Rhinelander Middle School Nordic Ski Team completed a fantastic year of race competition; ending things on a high note at this years 2009 Wisconsin State Championships hosted in Minocqua. 8th Grade Skier, Aaron Bowen finished the season as State Champion (Classic technique) beating out 54 other skiers to take the title. Bowen also medaled in (Freestyle technique) placing 4th overall. 8th Grade Skier, Claire Tracy led the way for the Hodag Girls team, bringing home two Medals at State. Claire finished strong placing 4th overall in classic technique. In the afternoon freestyle technique session; Claire prepared herself in an attempt to earn a second medal for the day. Claire displayed another strong effort and once again medaled taking 5th overall. All the skiers had a fantastic year. Each skier continually made considerable strides in performance and it showed in their race results. “I am very proud of the way this team dedicated themselves to working hard all week leading up to race events. This was also one of the most generous group of kids to coach.” In 2009/2010 the High School team will be receiving a highly competitive group of freshman skiers.
