Promoting recreational access and active, healthy lifestyles for the whole community.
Each year around the holiday break, Northwoods Nordic hosts an evening of casual skiing and conversation at the Northwoods Community trails located just across from Rhinelander High School.
Luminaries , kettles of hot chocolate and coffee, a warm campfire, moon-lit skies, casual conversation, and gentle trails highlight this event.
It's the prefect time to get the family out and to enjoy the beauty of the northwoods.
So here's what you need to know for the Candlelight Ski.
When: Sunday, January 1, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm
Where: Rhinelander Community Trails (right across from Rhinelander High School)
Equipment: Bring your own skis OR Mel's Trading Post will provide free, on-site rentals of skis, poles, and boots to those who need them. Some skiers also bring headlamps.
Refreshments: Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by Northwoods Nordic Ski Club.
Trails: Three looped trails will be groomed and tracked through the woods; the shortest of these will be set with luminaries. Also groomed will be a track around the soccer field.
Bon Iver!
