The Northwoods Nordic Ski Club was established in Rhinelander in 1983 as an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (501c3) corporation. We are a group of individuals dedicated to providing outdoor silent sports recreation to the public with an emphasis on cross-country skiing.
We provide financial, coaching and staffing support for the Rhinelander High School Nordic Ski Team, Rhinelander Middle School Nordic Ski Team and the Sno-dags.
We maintain approximately 30 kilometers of cross-country ski trails at three locations:
We hold an annual Candlelight cross-country ski event at the Rhinelander Community Trails and host Collegiate, United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), High School, Middle School, and Youth Cross Country Ski Races at the FIS homologate trails at the Cedrig A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC) trails .
To foster the sport of cross country skiing in the Rhinelander area by maintaining high-quality venues and supporting progressive developmental ski-programming for our youth, community and visitors.

The Board of Directors meets monthly between September and April. Meetings will be held the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 6:30pm- 8:00pm at the Curran Building Meeting Room. All members in good standing are welcome to attend.
