The Northwoods Nordic Ski Club was established in Rhinelander in 1983 as an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (501c3) corporation.  We are a group of individuals dedicated to providing outdoor silent sports recreation to the public with an emphasis on cross-country skiing. 

We provide financial, coaching and staffing support for the Rhinelander High School Nordic Ski Team, Rhinelander Middle School Nordic Ski Team and the Sno-dags. 

We maintain approximately 30 kilometers of cross-country ski trails at three locations:

• The Rhinelander Northwood Nordic Ski Trails near the Rhinelander Northwood Golf course
• The Rhinelander Community Trails near the Rhinelander High School (RHS)
• The CAVOC Trails just east of Rhinelander.

We hold an annual Candlelight cross-country ski event at the Rhinelander Community Trails and host Collegiate, United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), High School, Middle School, and Youth Cross Country Ski Races at the FIS homologate trails at the  Cedrig A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC) trails .

To foster the sport of cross country skiing in the Rhinelander area by maintaining high-quality venues and supporting progressive developmental ski-programming for our youth, community and visitors.

• $50 Family Membership.
• $150 Sponsor a youth skier.
• Become a sponsor of the club.

Volunteer to help with:

• trail maintenance,
• become a coach or parent volunteer for the ski teams,
• volunteer to help at our events,
• become a member of one of our committees,
• or serve on the board of directors.

The Board of Directors meets the 1st Tuesday of each month between  August and March.  Meetings are at 6:30pm in the Curran Building Meeting room  (315 South Oneida Avenue, Rhinelander, WI). All members in good standing are welcome to attend.
